Ashby-de-la-Zouch: printed for the Society by J.D.Hextall,
1859.
Scarce. The plates were all made from drawings contributed by members of the Society. The object of the Society was “to delineate remains of Antiquity ... illustrative of the early and middle ages.” The plates, which were produced by a special process of transfer from zinc plates by Cowells of Ipswich, are similar in effect to proofs of steel-engraved plates on India paper.
